Hi, I'm John!
Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm John Epeneter, and 3D printing is one of the exciting new hobbies I'm exploring as I prepare for retirement. What started as curiosity about what these fascinating machines could actually create quickly turned into a full-blown passion.
There's something deeply satisfying about watching a digital design transform layer by layer into a physical object you can hold in your hands. Whether I'm printing something useful for around the house, a one-of-a-kind gift for family, or just something fun and creative, every print is its own little adventure — and occasionally its own little mystery when things go sideways!
I built this site to share my work and to make it easy for family and friends to see what I've been making — and to reach out if they'd like me to print something for them.
How I'm Learning
3D printing has a surprisingly deep rabbit hole, and I've been diving into it from several directions. Here are the resources I've found most valuable so far:
- YouTube — Channels like Maker's Muse, Teaching Tech, and The 3D Printing Zone have been incredibly helpful for getting started and troubleshooting
- Reddit — The r/3Dprinting and r/BambuLab communities are a goldmine of tips, troubleshooting help, and inspiration
- Bambu Lab Wiki & Forums — Official documentation and user-contributed guides specific to my printer
- Printables.com & Thingiverse — Free model repositories where I find things to print and browse what the community has created
- Trial & Error — Honestly, the best teacher of all. Every failed print teaches you something!
